High blood pressure can, in the long term, increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Reducing blood pressure can reduce these risks. Treatment does not always require medication. All adults should have their blood pressure checked annually or more often if it has been elevated in the past.

For those who suffer from diabetes or other chronic medical conditions (e.g. epilepsy, osteoporosis, and severe asthma) our practice offers GP management plans to assist in the maintenance of your health condition.
GP Management plans enable us to identify problem areas in your health and employ strategies to improve those problem areas. By doing this we are able to refer you to a preferred Allied Health provider under the governments Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program. This program allows you to have up to 5 Medicare rebateable services per calendar year with an allied health provider. So instead of being out of pocket the total fee for this service you are eligible for a rebate from Medicare. Some providers will even bulk bill those under the EPC program. You will need to check with your provider prior to your appointment for fees and conditions.

This is a common disorder and often unrecognised, so please advise your doctor if you have any family history of diabetes. Some early indicators could be frequent urination and/or unusual thirst, rapid weight loss or tingling/numbness in fingers or toes. A simple blood test is all that is required to diagnose diabetes.
For more information please visit: Diabetes Australia Website
Our practice is committed to preventive care. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventive health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system please let your doctor or reception staff, know.
